My MKV is also at 9:30 with a HC5/HC4 mic or the Yaesu mic.

be a nice rig and the filter selection that I have on my MP is something
that I would miss on the MK V. However, I noticed that they had the Yaesu
mic ( the fancy one) on a boom and they had set the mic gain to almost 4
o'clock. Is this a normal setting? I have the Goldline and my mic gain is
set to about 10 o'clock. I set mine up using another receiver and I just
checked the MK V at ARRL using the ALC meter. No complaints from the many
QSO's but just curious. I did like the larger knobs on shift, width, notch
etc. and not having the little knob for contour. If you are running
barefoot the 200 watts is nice to have but as I always said, most everyone
has an amp. Even a modest amp can be had for little $$.
