If you think about it, or know a little about modern electronics
manufacturing it begins to make sense.  It is not practical to build those
extremely complex circuit boards at the same rate as radios are sold. It
just isn't economical to do.  You design the boards, set up the pick and
place machine and run (lets say) a years worth of boards.  Then Yaesu might
hand assemble the boards into transceiver cases on as as needed basis.  I
think this explains why small changes that we all think should get corrected
(like the key click issue) just can't get done easily - the boards are
already built.
