[1000mp] Radio Marketing and Separate Reflector?

It's called marketing. Take a proven winner, make some minor changes and
market the hell out of it so people will believe it is a great improvement
over something that is great now, and there will be a rush to buy it.
That's how Yaesu and Kenwood sell radios, rather than REALLY improving on
something that is already good but has some flaws. Like say fix the
problems in the 1000MP and call it the 1000MP+ or the 1001MP.
Of course, it doesn't always work. Which is why I buy USED radios after
everybody else has already bought theirs and analyzed them. :-)
I vote for only ONE reflector. I have learned so much about the 1000D and
Mark V, that I am now even happier with my USED 1000MP's (plus good
filtering).
If Yaesu ever bothers to make a radio that truly lives up to their hype (and
that is highly unlikely) and acknowledges its problems (also unlikely) then
and only then would I consider buying a new radio.
In the meantime, I love my MP's and I think this is a great reflector!
