Thats correct but not that bad just push fast and nb button at the
same time and you're in the menu for nb then adjust A1-15 or B1-15
(wide or narrow) I've found one setting pretty much covers all
noises around here, simple setup, and I feel its as good as the MP or
the FT1000 (I've had two FT1000's too) or maybe even a bit better.
As long as I'm on this subject, other things I like about the MKv
better are the display, its not a bunch of unlit digits like in the
MP its now very nice. I like the separate shift and width controls
better than in the MP, shift and width seem to be even more effective
in the MKV, in fact I wonder why anyone would really need optional
filters at all, let the shift and width do its job. I like the cool
quiet 200 watts in the MKV better than the 100 watts in the MP which
when transmitting for a extended time the internal fan/blower in the
MP seemed to be louder than the MKV. I like the larger tuning knob
on the MKV, I can spin it, on the MP I could not. I also like the
VRF feature, which the MP did not have. Of course I cannot leave out
the class A operation which if you are driving a linear the
transmitter is about 20 db cleaner. I've also heard the cabinit was
hard to remove on the MKV but I in fact found it only a little bit
more troublesome to remove, I think it took me about 3 minutes.
Yes, I think Yaesu has a fine radio in the MKV, improved upon the MP
while keeping many of the MP's features too. I liked the MP but I
like the MKv better now that I've had a few days to get used to the
changes.
Changes get tougher as I get older but somehow I manage....hi.
