[1000mp] Comparison Mark V and ProII

Paul,
I operate CW more than any of the other modes, but Saturday and Sunday
mornings I meet a few friends on 7215 at 7 am. The band is usually pretty
noisy, with lots of broadcast QRM and atmospheric QRN. The beverages help
quite a bit, but I often find it necessary to use the NR feature. Option A
seems to make the SSB more understandable. To my ear, it sometimes makes
the difference between reading the weaker stations and not reading them.
Too much NR and things get worse.
My Mk V succeeds a TS950 that I had for 18 years. Yes, I miss the richer
audio of the '930. Would I go back? Not a chance! The cascaded filters in
the Mk V and the DSP at the back end make this a super contest and DXing
rig. I also don't think I'll ever want a rig that doesn't have dual
receivers. Being able to hear the DX station in one ear while you're
looking for openings in the pileup in the other is the right way to do this.
