You need a straight cable - Just ask/look for a db9 > db9 cable labled as
"straight" or "modem cable"  (not a Null Modem)   They are dirt cheap .

A NULL cable always has the TX RX lines reversed or rolled as some call it.

|A null modem cable will not work because two pins are reversed.  You need
|a cable that is wired pin 1 to pin 1, pin 2 to pin 2, etc.
