Pretty different. Mine is independent of the ATU, and pretty independent
of frequency. Initialy it was really bad only on 15, but the roughness is
now there on the transmitted signal on every band to one degree or another.
Also, sometimes in the Monitor it goes really sour -- like T6 or T7. I
tried disconnecting every external connection to the radio except the coax,
and using a shorted key plug to key the cw, and the roughness is definitely
there on the CW coming out of the radio, so it's not RFI, and it's going back!
As an aside, it's amazing to be using my TS-930 again. You really don't
realize just how massaged and controlled the audio from the Mark 5 is until
you go back 15 years in time and listen to a good quality older receiver.
I'm not saying the 930 is better, but it sure is more "natural."
