[1000mp] Sudden Loss of Display

I have had my Mk V delay the display when it's first turned on. This
reflector has had many posts about that issue, especially when the rig is
cold(er). I haven't seen any info on losing the display after it comes up OK
at power up.

My Yaesu FT-1000 MP Mark V just lost it's "sight".  I turned it on this
morning and the digital display came up fine.  A few minutes later it was
blank...nothing...nada...no display showing.  I powered it on and off
several times but the display is still gone (blank).  Any suggestions?

Also, any recommendations on repair shops for Yaesu equipment, especially
the Mark V?  I sent my Yaesu handie-talkie into Yaesu's Cerritas, CA repair
facility on 12/17/01 and still have not got it back.  I'd like to find a
really good repair place with better turnaround.
