[1000mp] Pream Off ?

A question about the MP preamp this thread is discussing...

The MP menu has "tuned" and "flat" positions. I think "tuned" means there
is a preamp in the signal path, and flat means it's not there. Is it the
same thing to go to the menu and select "flat" vs. being in the "tuned"
position and then hitting the IPO button? Or is it a different preamp, or
some other distinction between these two cases?

If it's the same thing, it's sure a lot more convenient to just hit IPO than
to have to do it thru the menu. (Of course before I do most things through
the MP menu I have to hunt around for my menu crutch card, search for the
desired menu setting, and then go through the menu-change operation. A bit
of a pain.)

I'm gonna take a look at my schematics and block diagrams to see if they
give the answer to this question. But some of you smart MP OPs probably
already know.

Tom / W7GT
