[1000mp] Mark V "3 strikes you're out" policy

I'm running my new "Field" (3 weeks old) side by side with my 8 year old
1000D on the same antenna system. I find the "Field" receives just as well
with a lot more flexibility due to the menus and, if you have one of the
software packages that let you mix or match the filters, the "Field" is
better in heavy QRM and weak signals (I do 95% cw and digital modes). I'm
going to keep this side by side thing going for at least 3 months before
selling the 1000D but so far I'm in love with the "Field".
Incidentally my, then new, 1000D did go back twice in the first two years
for repairs.

My point of view, FWIW:
Go out and purchase a "BRAND NEW" FT 1000D. They have the "bugs" worked out
of that masterpiece. And, in my opinion, the factory fresh, new, never out
of the box (well almost) "1000 D" out performs my Mark V hands down.
(could that be a bit strong?..... maybe,.... maybe not)
Particularly impressive is the receiving end of the radio, although that's
just the beginning.
Incidentally, I never had any problems with my Mark V or my MP and I like
them both.
Thank you & 73,
