[1000mp] CAT cables etc

Well using a straight through DB9 to DB9 it says that the port exists 
but it can't find a 1000mp attached.

I'm now pretty convinced it is this anomaly between different USB-serial 
converters and I picked a Targus one :-(

I have Belcom one on order now.

It's even more important because an identical computer was bought here 
at work to control an inexpensive UKP15K fluid dispensing robot by 
serial port. The robot comes in today and I'll bet it doesn't like the 
Targus converter.

Anyway I've started a dialogue with Targus (and the Robot manufacturer 
to see what they suggest to use) so I'll let everyone know if any 
coherent story comes out, especially why there are these differences.
