K2XT commented:
"QST/ARRL think Yaesu should get their head out of the sand and issue a fix
for this problem the way auto manufacturers issue recall announcements."

and AE9B responded: "if it's not safety related you won't ever hear
about it"

We obviously haven't HEARD about it from Yaesu ;-) But Rick has succinctly
stated a growing irritation that I, and perhaps others, have been feeling
over the last year with Yaesu - a deafening silence on several major issues
of concern to their MP/MkV customers. Not only the key click issue, but
also the "deaf receiver" problem, non-linear clarifier (RIT) problem, and
the long delays and lack of communication by their service department.
There is no reason that the amateur community should accept a manufacturer's
silence on such fundamental issues. Yaesu certainly "doesn't get it", even
though they arguably have the best hf dx/contesting rigs on the market.
Thanks to free markets, we can vote with out checkbooks. And thanks to the
Internet, we're all informed on an on-going basis.
