[1000mp] 1000MP MKV Display Brightness

I've owned my MKV for about 3 weeks now and left it turned on continuously 
for most of that time. However this weekend I turned it off. 2 days later I 
turned it back on and noticed that the display was very dim - I could 
hardly see the S-Meter digits. It  probably took 10 minutes to reach the 
normal usable brightness.

I'm running the display in the max-bright position, which really is not 
very bright at the best of times.

Is this typical?
