The $500 "coupon" on the rig is applied to the purchase price at time of
purchase. If you paid something like $2600 for the rig you got the coupon deal.
.  The $100 MD-200A8X deal is direct from Yaesu but to the best of my knowledge
it started the second week in January.  I only know what I read on the dealers'
websites. It's probably best to call the dealer or Yaesu and ask them.

As far as being ugly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  To me it looks
reminiscent of some of the older, classic, broadcast mikes.  Anyway,  I only
have the hand mike that came with the rig.
