Hi Brian,

To answer your questions:

1. With the mains supply on, the VP-1000 fans will cycle and run for a few
seconds every 10 to 40 minutes, depending on ambient temperature. This is
normal. Also, the relay routining function (periodic exercise of all relays
or cleaning) will take place if the VP-1000 is left powered up whilst idle.

2. To allow remote on-off switching of the VP-1000 from a Yaesu exciter, set
the rear-panel [REMOTE] switch to "ON".

In my station, an Icom IC-756Pro drives a Quadra. I have had the Quadra for
over 3 years, and am delighted with it. There is a lot of Quadra information

Hi, I have a question ( or two ) on the Quadra amp from Yaesu;

1) I leave the power supply turned on all the time ( is that OK ??) in a
rather cold room and I still hear the fan turn on every 30-45 minutes for
3-5seconds is this normal ??
2) I thought that the Quadra was supposed to turn on when the FT1000MP was
turned on, is it supposed to ??
