[1000mp] CW-Nar2 Filters

What is the behaviour of CW NAR2 if only one of the two filter positions is
populated?  Is it the same a described for DATA NAR2?
I have been offered either a 250 or 300 Hz filter, but don't know which IF its
for.  Would like to confirm that it be usefully use able without its buddy .
The manual (Mark-V) and menu description is not specific.
For example, if a 250Hz filter is installed in the 3rd IF (455), does the
signal path go through the stock 2nd IF CW NAR1 filter - 500 Hz?
Similarly, if a 250Hz filter is installed in the 2nd IF, does the signal then
go through the CW NAR1 filter at the 3rd IF (which will be an INRAD 500 Hz as
soon as the post man brings it)?
By inference, both of these would be expected behaviour, but can somebody who
has done it confirm?  Thanks.
