Hi Markus,
To determine whether this is an amplifier/tuner fault or an EMC/RFI issue,
you will need to test into a dummy load at 1 kW CW output, with the tuner
enabled and disabled. (I assume you have the service manual; if not, you can
order one from Yaesu.)
If the tuner fails this test, one of the relays in the RF signal path may
have failed, or the reflectometer at the tuner output may be out of
calibration or defective. If the test passes, you may have an EMC problem,
quite possibly caused by grounding.

Subject: [1000mp] RE: Quadra Problem..
Hello to everyone on the list
I have Quadra amp that has developed a problem with the antenna tuner. The
tuner will not activate ar all. I am using a 1000mp Mark V and I have the
band data cables hooked up properly. I can press tuner and the tune, the
display comes up and says ERROR SWR > 3:1. I have tried the tuner on my 80
meter antenna where the SWR is about 2:1 (according to the SWR meter in the
Mark V) and I get the same message. The amp and radio run fine together as
long as the tuner is not enabled. I have reset the amp as per the
instructions but nothing has changed. Any ideas? Thanks, Markus
