Replacing the SOLDERED-IN 8.2 MHz 500 Hz stock filter with an INRAD 400 Hz is definitely OPTIONAL
and NOT plug-in. If you want to do that optional replacement, you have to order the filter without
the plug-in board.
Been there, done that.
"Options" may be Yaesu's terminology, referring to THEIR OWN STUFF, NOT INRAD'S, but that was
written by the same Japanese guy responsible for all that "Japlish" in the fractured computer
plug-in card install instructions. INRAD makes a replacement for the 8.2 MHz, 500 Hz stock filter,
whether Yaesu considers it an option or not. In English such terms are usually understood in a
global sense. It's only considered specific when modified, as in optional vs. Yaesu option.
73, Guy.
