[1000mp] Can't adjust FT1000mp vox delay

I purchased a FT1000mp years ago just I had to take a break from ham radio due to work commitments.  Sat in the box for several years and just yesterday pulled out and set up.

I cannot get the VOX Delay adjusted.  No matter where I set the DLAY pot on the ALC unit, the rig seems to be in full break-in mode.  And, yes, I made sure the BRK-IN switch is off.

My FT1000mp is the DC version, serial no. 5F010078, with all the Yaesu accessory filters and TCXO-6 installed.  I also installed the IR background noise & AGC mods and cut the J68808 Line 2 wire for transverter operation per the manual (the rig is intended to be used as a full-time 6m IF).

Suggestions?  Hate to send in for repair a rig I haven't even used yet!
