Hi Paul:
This combination really rocks !! First off, make a short cable (insulated
shielded single conductor - audio cable at RS) with a 1/8" stereo audio plug
on one end and the 4 pin RTTY plug on the other. Solder the 1/8" plug with
the tip and shield, leaving the ring alone. On the other end solder pins 1
and 4 leaving 2 and 3 alone ( check the manual - I forget which one is
ground and the other FSK keying). Next crack open the Rigblaster Plus (it
is a plus isn't it ...?) and move the DTR jumper to TxD keying. The
software has a particular area to choose the interface - choose
soundcard+TxD ... Now you simply have to hit the RTTY button so you can use
those nice filters, and transmit. First run the test in the MMtty software
to check direst FSK continuity. It works great ! If something is wrong
with the direct FSK hookup, and you try to transmit using RTTY (instead of
AFSK), your ALC will be off scale !! A sure sign something ain't right !!
Cheers !
Jamie
