K1VR:  I once owned a TL-922, and used it for about six years. The switch
would sparkle on 160 frequently, and on 40 occasionally. When I went in
to look, the contacts were small and the spacing was not large. On two
occasions I got out the small tools, including an eraser on the end of a
pencil, to clean up the carbon track. I've never had the problem with the
AL-1200. YMMV.
