I wasn't clear enough:  I use a stereo cable from AF-Out to the soundcard's 
line-in - which is also a stereo input and select the channel L, R or Mono 
on the MMTTY configuration. I think you can also set balance on the volume 
controls.
I have the line balance set to the middle ie mono position.
I don't believe that the 4-8, 4-9 controls affect the AF out. I think it's 
constant level  main and sub on separate channels the only control I think 
is enable of the RX on each receiver.

Sometimes the finger/mind/eye coordination isn't as good as it used to be -

So on RTTY I can at least have the system help me....
