Hello All....
I have both the SB 200 and SB 220 here, and they both work well with my Mark
V...Do not exceed about 500 mils grid drive on the SB 200, and load the
linear for maximum output at that drive level....You should be able to
achieve from 700 to 800 watts, on a stiff 240 volt line...I used a variac
for years to set the high voltage level to about 2400 volts, to assure full
output....The 572B is robust, and although it runs hot, it can take it
well...I still have 3 spare pairs of Cetrons which I never
needed....Although some folks have changed the parasitic suppressors for
lower Q types, I never had any instability or arcing within mine...and it is
stock...I can not say the same for the SB 220 with a pair of high mu Chinese
3-500ZG tubes...I will publish an article about my experience with these
higher gain tubes, in the original circuit...and what it takes to calm it
down....Go for the SB 200, either with or without ALC, and have fun....
