Try listening with a set of headphones or an external
speaker, anything. Incidentally you should hear the beeps
when pushing the buttons even if the squelch is turned up to
max (CW). Make sure the RX lights on both the Main and the
Sub are lit green and not flashing, which is the mute mode.
