Listening the the wav files, made me think of a few questions.
Does EVERY MP have this problem? If so, with the popularity of the MP,
the band should be FULL of clicky signals, but I don't really hear that
(or I haven't been listening closely enough). However, now that I know
what to listen for, I MAY be able to recognize clicky signals more
easily (and yes, I have heard some that sound like the wav files).
What conditions are required to easily hear them? Strong signals on a
quite band? What CW speeds typically create the problem? Is there a
difference between running barefoot vs. an amp? Would having both the
INRAD and W8JI mods be close to "ideal"?
I've put the INRAD mod in my MP, and plan to run some tests with another
local ... and want to replicate the worst case conditions with him to
see if my rig is clean.
Thanks ... and Happy New Year!
