To answer Ted's question, fast AGC was being used on the MP receiver.

Another question posed to me by W8FJ is whether the clicks on his first 
element are being caused by his MP keying waveform or possibly by the way he 
is switching his Titan amp (via vox but I don't have the details yet).  I 
don't know whether he might be hot switching the amp on or not.  I suggested 
that he experiment with the MP-amp interfacing and conduct some over-the-air 
tests.
