[1000mp] cw side tone distorted

Hello everyone, in particular the people who sent along suggestions on =
how to cure the distorted / chirpy side tone on my ft1000mpdc.
My problem now seems to be sorted !

1/. I have soldered the in line fuse crimp terminals --- now only one =
used in the positive lead, neg fuse removed because I use neg earth =
chassis.
2/. dc power lead shortend to about 18 inches long.
3/. psu crimp tags and rig end connector cleaned to ensure good low res =
connection.

I have now tried the rig on dummy load and main station antennas, and =
the side tone is perfectly adequate for me now - only a slight hint of =
hard keying on 15 mtrs.
On full break-in the first character sent is a good clear sound from the =
side tone, there is a slight thump, but not objectionable.

PS.   To Pete Smith  N4ZR  i'm sorry but I personaly can't help but i'm =
sure other people with the same rig may have some answers ----- gl
