        Yes, of course...too late at night.  A mono phone plug will 
work fine if you don't insert it completely.  I do that so I can use
the same wiring for my MP and TS-930S.  If I recall correctly, when
you insert a mono plug completely into the MP it continuously keys
the MP but it will work fine if you slightly (<0.25") detent it.
