[1000mp] RFI info

About a year ago I asked for help on this reflector concerning a problem
with my 1000mp.  The problem was that after transmitting the antenna relay
would hang up and not return to receive.  Sometime hitting the footswitch
would correct the problem while other times it was necessary to push the A/B
antenna switch several times.  After posting to the reflector several people
suggested it might be a RFI problem.  I removed everything connected to the
rig except the coax out and substituted the hand mike for my Heil
headset/boom mike.  The situation got better but never completely cured.
This summer I completely reworked the ground system in the shack.  Again it
helped but not completely cured the situation.  I finally sent for a bundle
of snap-on ferrite cylinders and put all the original input connections back
on the rig (Heil, foot switch, computer control, etc) with at least one
ferrite on each lead.  Doesn't look to cool but it seems to have done the
trick.  After several thousand contacts (contest and others) not a single
problem.
Sorry for the bandwidth but I thought it important to add to the "knowledge
base".
