My display died this week too.  Must be a disturbance in The Force.
Mike's advice was great.

Find the inverter board...you'll have to remove the top and bottom covers
and
fold down the front panel.  The inverter board is probably 1" x 3" under
a metal shield.  There are two heavy white wires and a black and white
pair that attach to the board.  

Remove the board unsolder one of the black wires connected to the TF1
spot on the board.  Check for continuity.  If the thermal fuse is
open...remove the other wire...and jumper the terminal.

Worked for me.
