[1000mp] help connecting soundcard input.

Hello,
I don't know the Rigblaster but I connect my laptop directly to my MP by
running a simple audio cable from the line/speaker out to the "Patch" RCA
on the back of the radio and another cable from the "AF Out" to the mic
input on the laptop. I then enable the VOX switch on the radio and that TX
when the laptop sends audio out.
A couple of tips: disable all Windows sounds on the PC as that will
trigger TX unexpectedly. With the VOX switch engaged, you'll trigger TX if
you speak on the rig's mic so it's better to disconnect it (or be very
quiet). Also, the AF Out jack runs stereo - receive audio runs on one
channel and monitor audio (TX audio from the radio) on the other. If you
want to, for example, record both receive and transmit audio from your
radio but your software only records one channel, pull the AF Out plug a
tad back out so both the audio streams be present on both L and R
channels.
I use this setup to run PSK31, CW decoding, audio analyzers and even
on-air recording that includes my own audio. I don't need a coupling
transformer or any other interface between the PC and radio. I have no RF
problems even when my laptop sits 4 inches between my radio and linear.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [1000mp] help connecting soundcard input.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello,
I'm new to the reflector and recently got me a secondhand 1999 FT1000MP.
I'm qiet impressed with all the info to find over the internet, been
reading
a lot.
One thing seems not to work for now, to hook up a line from my soundcard
to
work some afsk digital modes like PSK31 or SSTV.
I would like to keep the mic on the front 8 pins connector and I like to
hear about possible suggestions. I for now have the afsk line from the
soundcard on the patch rca input and the PTT trough the 7 pins DVS input.
Wath did NOT work : afsk via voice in or packet in on both connectors,
this
was strange to me.
So folks, all help is welcome and thanks a million.
PS, I have a rigblaster but only with RJ45 and therefore work not trought
the 8 pin connector on the front.
