Interesting.

I expect a DSP system would not do much, because power line noise 
generally has a very high peak to average voltage value and a very 
fast rise and fall requiring a lot of bandwidth. By the time it goes 
through any receiver stages, especially if the stages have limited 
bandwidth, the noise "muddies up" and starts to look like a desired 
signal to any blanker or DSP system.

The good results you have with the QRN Squasher is a real puzzlement,
