[1000mp] Remote operation of the 1000MP

Greetings to everyone in the reflector group,
I just got my new and first Yaesu product, a FT1000MP MkV a couple of weeks
ago and also downloaded and tried to use the TRX manager demo as well as
MPMM (MP Memory Manager) from one of the FT1000 software websites. I am
probably doing something totally dumb here but I can't seem to get the CAT
interface to be recognized on my PC. I am using the correct standard RS232
9-pin cables and also tried the RS-232 25 pin without any success. Is there
some hidden parameter within one of these menues that needs to be selected
to get the CAT interface to be active? Any ideas where to troubleshoot will
be appreciated. BTW other than this bit of aggravationt that is probably
something that I am doing wrong, I love this radio. Have a Kenwood TS-450SAT
and TS-940S in the shack also.
