BTW
I just called them about 10 minutes ago concerning the FT-890 and it has not
yet been assigned to a tech. They said they are looking at a ten week turn
around. I shipped it on 3/8/02 and they signed for it on 3/15/02. So they
have had it now for almost six weeks. Hopefully four to go.
This is a backup rig but I am loaning it to a friend so I would like it as
quickly as possible.
For what it's worth, at one time I owned three FT-890's and they all worked
super. One at home, one in the car and one at my brother's QTH (now SK).
This particular '890 even went under water in a flood about five years ago
and after rinsing with alcohol and using a blow dryer it fired up and has
worked FB ever since. It even went on a contest DXpedition to the Caribbean
since that flood. Tough as nails.
73,
Norm, W3IZ
