Is the RF gain wide open on the main RX? Make sure because if it is say 2-3
o'clock it will affect the S meter.

The two S meters are independently adjusted. Differences in the S
meter relate to different filters & filter losses, different circuit
paths, and arbitrary, separate meter adjustments.

Don't lose any sleep over it.
