In many cases two tone testing produces better numbers than one 
encounters in the real world.  This happens for two reasons ... 

 1) two tone testing does not test the low frequency (syllabic rate) 
    power supply response issues. 

 2) voice is not two-tone ... it is very complex with multiple 
    tone characteristics.  

Two tone testing is used because it is repeatable, relatively 
easy to implement with simple test equipment and easy to "read."
