[1000mp] FT-1000MP/ FT-1000MP MkV/ FT-1000MP MkV Field - More Alike Than Different?

It would be interesting to see a comparison list, or chart. out of Yaesu
that allowed one to compare what is the same, and what is unique between
these common family series of rigs.

I was surprised to note in the FT-1000MP Technical Overview brochure (
B9200182B) page 14, item D, where it says that the "push-pull final
amplifier stage utilizes bipolar 2SC2879 transistors, which proved to so
reliable in the 200-watt power amplifier for the FT-1000D. At the 100-watt
level, this amplifier design is extremely stable and provides excellent
linearity ....

Thought we had determined that the finals in these two rigs are 'not' the
same. Is this a error?? Did early units use the D finals, and later units
change??

On page 44 in the same brocure, it lists the Duty Cycle for the transmitter
to be 100% at 50 watts. Thats nice!

Thought we had determined that the finals in these two rigs are 'not' the
same. Is this a typo??

What is the difference in the display for the MkV and the Field that
improves the display so none lit characters are 'shadowed'? Is it the actual
readout that has changed, or the filter lens?? If it is the lens, than that
might work for a retro fit to the Mp eh???

Another question. Is the Field version a 'true' dual receiver like the model
D, or like the MP/MkV ???

While on the topic of comparisons, here is an interesting email from the
Tentec crowd. Looks like some of them at least consider the FT-1000MP as a
comparison as a 'Standard' for Tentec... hi hi

I have to admit, at first glance, the Orion is the UGLIEST Tentec I ever
saw. I had no urge to rush right out and buy one. Every time I see an Omni
or Corsair II, I have this urge to buy. Not so with the "new look" stuff.
Just another rig from the cookie cutter. I guess my Paragon isn't too bad.
I can live with it a little longer. What I really wanted was Paragon with a
FT-1000MP under the hood.

Look for ALL Ten-Tec gear to receive (ugh) Black covers late 2002 per
Scott when I complained about the Orion's Black color.
Too bad IMHO.
