I thought you might be interested in this excerpt from the Technical
Supplement.
I will post this on my web site shortly:
Alignment: IF Gain
* Turn the transceiver off, then press and hold the FAST and LOCK buttons
(near main VFO knob), and turn the transceiver on again.
* Push FAST then ENT to get into the menus
* Connect an RF signal generator to the antenna jack, and inject +8dbu.
Select menu function 9-1, and adjust the main VFO knob for a 1-segment
S-meter deflection
I believe this is the procedure to determine what the 9-1 setting should be
set at, and it will differ from radio to radio.

I think 13 is nominal, 22 is far too high.
